About

Hi all!

I am a Texas native currently masquerading as a graduate student working toward a History Museum Studies degree in upstate New York. I am currently surviving my first true Northern winter!

So how did I wind up with a blog?

It all started with a study abroad trip to England. Since I wouldn't be able to call my mom regularly, I created this blog to update her on what I was doing while I was gone.

Since then, it has wandered a bit. I wasn't sure if I wanted it to be a travel blog, or a book blog, or some of both, or something else entirely! Finally, I settled on those things that I know and love best, myths, history, and culture, with a few world events thrown in.

My schedule, you ask?
On Tuesdays, I'll share a blog post from blogs that I follow that I think are cool or thought provoking. These won't always be related to the blog themes, but hopefully it will expose you to all sorts of neat blogs and podcasts.

On Fridays, I'll come up with an original blog post about something interesting in the world. If you have requests, send me a note! Leave a comment on a post or give me a tweet!

I'll also do a book roundup at the end of each month so you can get an idea of what I'm reading. (I'm way too big of a reader to not include books in here somehow!)

I'm on Twitter at @KestrelLady and I've set up a Pinterest page for the blog.

So I hope you enjoy reading. Don't be afraid to leave me a comment; I'd love to hear from you. :)
